Context
A major UK recruitment marketplace wanted to simplify the employer experience used to compare hiring products and purchase job adverts. Over five months, an updated responsive interface was translated directly from design into HTML, CSS and JavaScript within an enterprise commerce platform.
The approach was then adapted for a specialist sister brand and extended into coded campaign-email templates, creating a more consistent thread across commerce and marketing touchpoints.
The challenge
Recruiters needed to understand which advertising product suited their hiring needs and move towards purchase without navigating an overly complex proposition. The experience had to distinguish between single and multiple-role hiring, explain a wider range of recruitment services and establish trust while keeping the primary commercial actions prominent. Simplicity and conversion were central objectives. The new interface also needed to work responsively within an established enterprise platform, adapt to a specialist brand and remain coherent when translated into campaign communications.
Approach
The work connected design and implementation closely. UX and visual direction from the wider team was translated into responsive HTML, CSS and JavaScript and integrated directly into the commerce platform. The hierarchy began with the main hiring choices, product value and purchase actions, then introduced an application-estimate tool, a browsable service range, customer proof, platform benefits and practical employer content.
The same structural patterns were adapted for a specialist recruitment audience while retaining its distinct visual identity and proposition. Product comparisons, purchase pages and promotional content were created for desktop and mobile. Campaign-email concepts were also explored and developed as HTML templates, carrying the same clear value hierarchy into referral and marketing communications.
Solution
The resulting employer-commerce experience gave recruiters a clearer path from hiring need to relevant product and purchase action. Responsive modules made the main advertising options easier to compare, while supporting services, proof and advice remained available without competing with the primary journey. A related experience for the specialist brand demonstrated that the structure could flex across propositions, and coded email templates extended it into campaign delivery.
